HP Officejet 7410xi All-in-One can I connect to a Windows 7 laptop?

The CD lists different types of Windows on it but only as high as Windows XP. When I tried to load it to the Windows 7 Laptop it said something about having to be in Administrative mode - don't know how to get there and not sure if I can even connect these two together. I want a wireless connection and the printer does do wireless. I have an Ethernet cable but can't get that far on the CD yet. Help!!!
