Problem getting my deposit back?

Hi!! I recently vacated a property and am having trouble getting my deposit back (�890). I cleaned the house from top to bottom, bleaching workstops and fridge etc. They have got back to me with a list of minor things, some probably correct (a few cobwebs etc) some I know are not (dirty worktops, weeds). they are now telling me they have had to get a gardner in and a cleaning company and will deduct this from my deposit. I dispute some of the work they say is needed. They would not let me go to the inventory as they said it was done by an independant company. Im waiting for the final bill but is there anything I can do? They have me over a barrel as they have my money. I have asked for invoices for the work as I am paying for it, they haven't got back to me yet. Its been over 3 weeks now and new tenants are in the property.
